index2.gif (733 bytes) The Miethe Story

The faboulous "V-7" comes to life and the real saga has begun. Now we have even the purported pictures of the 1944 Nazi "flying saucers".

Miethe German Flying SaucerA quite unprecise skecth of the alleged "Miethe disc" taken from D.Master's book. Several book and article illustrators tried to portrait the craft claimed by the "inventors" or witnesses of Nazi flying saucers just following the descriptions provided by them. Results were often quite exotic and far from the original words, likely to try to make even more visually-appealing the story about a fantastic Nazi super-weapon. Click here for a dedicated page! On September 1952 the Italian weekly "Tempo" published four pictures claimed to be the photographs taken on April 17, 1944 of a "flying disc" built by Miethe and test-flown over the Baltic Sea. Now you have the scans of the original mag article and a few close-ups of the photographs: click here to go to the related page.
Views of Miethe flying discAnother draft of the alleged Miethe disc. Drawings like this one have been often presented as "technical documents" sustaining the reality of the "German saucers". Actually they were just artist renderings of the claims reported by newaspapers. Schriever "flying saucer" modelThis is a possible model for the claimed 42-meter large "flying saucer" developed by Miethe. Aviation expert Hans Justus Meier says the descriptions reported by the press in the early '50s are neraly pure nonsense under an aerodynamic and technical point of view. In fact it would have been a self-destructive craft due to the claimed placement of its jet engines. More, its weights appear completely unbalanced.
